Sacrament of Reconciliation

Thank you for your enquiry about the Sacrament of Reconciliation at St Patricks Mortlake.
  
The Sacrament is another important part of our Christian faith journey, where we fully become a 'child of God' and a friend and follower of Jesus Christ.  We learn about the important gifts of forgiveness and we celebrate reconciliation with God and the people around us. 

The Sacrament of First Reconciliation at St Pats is a parish-based program and a prerequisite to First Holy Communion. To participate in the program a child must be a baptised Catholic.  You will be required to upload a copy of the Baptismal Certificate or provide a copy at the First Instruction Lesson.

This sacrament is offered to children from Year 2 onwards.  The program caters for older children, so if children have missed out in previous years, they are still welcome to enrol.  However, if you have an enquiry for a child older than 12 or for an adult, please contact the Parish Office via email or phone 9743 1017 so we can further discuss your journey.

You will be requested to contribute $20 to cover the cost of books and other incidentals for the programme.

Reconciliation will be celebrated on Friday 4th April at 5pm and 7pm at St Patrick's Church.

Instruction Lessons occur on the following Mondays from 4.15pm till 5.15pm in the Church Hall.

  • Instruction 1 - Monday 24th March (Lesson Books distributed)
  • Instruction 2 - At home conducted by a parent
  • Instruction 3 & 4 - Monday 31st March

This form will gather the following information:-
1. The child's details, parent's details and preferred contact information.
2. A preferred Reconciliation time (5pm or 7pm).
