Movie in the Garden: Gemma Galgani
Join us on the Parish green to watch the new 2026 release of Gemma Galgani. Set in late 19th-century Italy and drawn from her diaries and biographies, the movie highlights holiness in ordinary life, emphasizing sacrifice, spiritual struggle, and complete trust in Christ.
Gemma Galgani is portrayed as a humble, fragile young woman deeply devoted to Christ. Orphaned and often ill, she lives a life of prayer and willingly offers her suffering for the salvation of others.
As she begins to experience mystical phenomena - healings, visions, ecstasies, and the stigmata - her life becomes one of intense spiritual trial and obedience. Though met with skepticism and scandal by some, she remains steadfast in her faith, embracing her suffering as a divine calling.
Recommended movie rating: M/PG15. Please note that the movie is in Spanish with English subtitles.
Admission to the movie is free, but please register so we can estimate attendance due to limited green space.
